Sounds familiar right?

We listen to advice from our grandparents, parents and elders about life(even after we are so grown up.)The Gyaan(knowledge) rains upon us literally everyday!

Those lectures on soul-searching and ‘finding oneself’ are just too repetitive and boring. So why just keep suffering? Do some soul searching and preach something yourself!

Hehe, just joking :) (Disclaimer:To all the grown-ups reading this, the joke was purely meant for entertainment and does not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments)

First of all, introspection cannot be done by anybody else but you. It’s self-taught and self-learned. Just like lessons that a professor gave for self-study.The exam is a twisted and turned situation which you need to handle based on your introspection. No exam dates guys, it’s a surprise test. There are no marks, just consequences.

But the positives are, that you become a better version of yourself, you know, the latest updated edition of yourself. That’s why bestseller books just keep coming out with newer editions! You realize what you are made of,and that is the whole aim of introspection. The ‘gut feeling’ aka the tiny, inner voice becomes louder and can finally be heard. It’s like a phone call to yourself that says, “Hang in there!”

The whole process of introspection doesn’t need a reason.

It just needs a place free of chaos and the main person-you.That’s when the real thinking happens. And everyone should do this once in a while, to make sure everything is all right in there!

Life teaches you the best lessons only when you are able to introspect properly. It tells you your strengths and your weaknesses. Sometimes, introspection or what we call self-analysis occurs mostly while going through a not-so-good phase. As it’s well said-Necessity is the mother of invention-introspection rings the bell when facing a difficult situation.

300 million people in the world are depressed or have experienced a depressive episode in the past and every one in 13 people suffers from anxiety.Although depression and anxiety involve thinking patterns including self-blame,criticising oneself, or hopelessness, research and surveys have found a link between self-reflection and these disorders.

And while you do this ,you’ll realize how things that mattered so much to you aren’t that important at all. They simply aren’t worth all the drama and emotion.[this includes people too :)]

Getting caught up in drama like putting filters each time on your post so your account looks like a celebrity account,or counting the number of likes, your followers, etc. The followers of most people who have more than a thousand followers are not even their acquaintances, leave alone being friends. We believe a lot of things the way they are shown to us and it doesn’t matter whether it’s on social media or in real life.

Introspection rids us of these beliefs pretty well, provided we choose to listen.
